Membership

Eligibility:
To be eligible, you must be a male descendant (includes stepsons and adopted sons) of a member in good standing of The American Legion.
You would also be eligible to join the Sons of The American Legion if you are the male descendant (stepsons and adopted sons included) of a veteran who died in service, or who died subsequent to their honorable discharge from such service during the eligible eras listed below.
Eligible eras are:
April 6, 1917 to Nov. 11, 1918   (World War I)
Dec. 7, 1941 to Dec. 31, 1946   (World War II – Merchant Marines are eligible during these dates)
June 25, 1950 to Jan. 31, 1955   (Korean War)
Feb. 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975   (Vietnam War)
Aug. 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984   (Lebanon / Grenada)
Dec. 20, 1989 to Jan. 31, 1990   (Panama)
Aug. 2, 1990 to today   (Gulf War / War On Terrorism)
How to Join:
1. Complete membership application.
2. Submit copy of DD Form 214, Discharge Papers or Separation Documents. If you need assistance in obtaining your DD 214, Request Military Records
3. Either stop by Post 91 and drop off your membership materials, e-mail it tosalmembership@azlegion91.org or mail to:
